Tiffany Chu

Class of 2020
Specialist in Accounting

WELCOME to rotman commerce! I'm tiffany.

I am currently a second year student specializing in Public Accounting. I was born in Fremont, California, and grew up in Taiwan. When I first moved to Toronto, I was fascinated by the proximity of the cultural, entertainment, and financial districts. Within twenty minutes of exploring the city, I walked by various art galleries, saw Blue Jay fans swarming out of the Rogers Centre and business people walking down Bay Street. Choosing to attend one of the most prestigious schools in Canada in an extremely diverse city (even based on the weather!)  has been one of the best decisions I've made. At Rotman, I am surrounded by friendly, bright, and driven students who are extremely approachable and have interesting stories to tell.

I have been actively involved in both the Rotman Commerce and U of T communities. In my first year, I joined the Varsity Cheerleading Team, where I not only competed at Nationals with the team but also brought spirit and energy to various games on campus. Community involvement has always been an important part of my life, and I am able to give back to my community by assisting current first-years as Assistant Peer Mentor of the Rotman FLC and fundraising for charity as Director of Marketing of Suits U, a non-profit organization. I am also currently a marketing committee member of the Rotman Commerce Accounting Society.

Professionally, I plan to pursue a career in the accounting industry and obtain my CPA designation. In the summer after completing first year, I had the opportunity to attend KPMG's Experience Community Leadership where I spent a day assisting immigrant women and their families with learning English. In the summer of 2018, I will be interning at Ernst & Young. In my spare time, I train with the Liquid Assets Dragon Boat Team, binge watch Stranger Things, and hunt for new cafes and restaurants downtown.
